The Wilder School’s annual Plan-Off! competition returns this spring, bringing together student teams to present planning proposals developed over the course of the semester.

Each team delivers solutions grounded in research, analysis and community insight, pitching their ideas before a panel of professionals who provide feedback and select the winning team.

The competition highlights how the school’s urban and regional studies and planning program prepares students for practice. It serves as both a showcase of student talent and a reflection of the role planning plays in shaping communities across Virginia.

Students compete for a prize by pitching their solution to a real-world planning, public policy or management problem before a panel of expert judges. Students have five minutes to present their plans, which will advance through a series of rounds until a champion is named. The event is free and open to the public.
