BIOGRAPHY

Laurence Prokop brings over five decades of experience in intelligence, national security, and criminal justice to the department. He is a retired Supervisory Intelligence Analyst and instructor with the FBI’s Targeting and Data Exploitation Unit (TDEX), where he developed and delivered intermediate and advanced intelligence training programs for intelligence and crime analysts. He joined the FBI in 2007 and has worked across diverse homeland security and criminal justice initiatives.

Prior to his time with the FBI, he was a Cryptologist and Linguist in the U.S. Navy, graduating from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California with mastery of the Russian language. He holds a Master of Science in Public Safety Leadership with a specialization in Criminal Justice from Capella University as well as Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University .

In addition to his federal service, He has designed and taught college-level courses including Introduction to Counterintelligence, Structured Analytic Techniques for Intelligence Analysis, The Ethics of Spying: Covert Government Intelligence Operations, and Integrating Intelligence in Criminal Justice Systems. He has also taught 100 criminal justice classes and is passionate about preparing the next generation of analysts and leaders to think critically, ethically, and creatively in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
