Amidu is a PhD. student in the Public Policy and Administration program at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), United States. He earned a BSc. Honors in Peace and Conflict Studies and a MSc. in Security Strategic and Development Studies from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, and a Master of International Studies, North Carolina State University, United States.

Amidu is experienced in working with government and nonprofit organizations. He was a Researcher and Security Analyst at the Office of National Security, Office of the President in Sierra Leone and served as Technical Team Lead for the African Youth on Mining and Environment. He loves serving his community. 

His research intersects criminal justice, focusing on law enforcement and prisons, homeland security and emergency management, governance, and social equity.
